Q: Who runs this place? A: That would be me. My name is Leenie, and you'd know that if you read my bio. Not that I prefer that you do if you didn't. Q: Who your host? A: I have two hosts. Elite Host is my hosting space host and GoDaddy.com is my domain host. If you don't understand the difference, let me explain: Elite Host is what provides my hosting space. Go Daddy is what hosts my domain name. Q: Who much did it cost you? A: I'll be honest with you, I have no idea. I don't pay for my hosting space, my mom's roommate does. It's not as much as people think though. I think he told me that he pays about $10 a year and I have all this space and bandwidth. He bought the package from ebay which is actually a really good place to shop for space. The contract lasts a year though, but as long as you keep paying the fee, you don't have to worry about your site shutting down. I do recommend reading the reviews on the person you are thinking of buying space from, some guys give great prices for great deals but there are so many boundaries you can't cross. Q: Do you host other sites and will you host mine? A: Yes and no. I provide space for people I offer to. On an incredibly rare occasion, I'll get asked by somebody, in which if they provide good enough rationale, I'll provide them with some space. However, I don't allow just anybody and you have to jump through a lot of hoops just to get on board with the IA family. Plus, I draw the line at 4 other hostees. Though I do have plenty of space, I don't want to be responsible for too many people's sites. Q: Don't I know you from some other site? A: If you go to "The Girl" section of the site, I've posted my online "resume" of the various projects I was on. You may know me as "BLaZe" for any projects preceding 2005. Q: What's the Hopelessly Addicted Secret Zone and why is it members only? A: HASZ is a side-project meant for the regular and loyal visitors of Hopelessly Hopeful and Panic Addicted. It's contains exclusive content available to those who were provided with a login and password. There are ways to get your own login and password, but you'd have to jump through a few hoops to get one. Trust me, the hoops aren't hard at all. Q: How much space do you actually have? A: I have unlimited storage space and bandwidth. Q: ...But Elite Host doesn't have a good package deal like yours on their site? A: The package I have was bought from elite host's ebay account. Check eBay to see what kind of deals they have. Q: What are some free hosting sites that you recommend? A: Hosting Tribe and Zymic. Both provide a fair amount of space and data transfer without caking your page with a million ads. The only catch is that you must know how to use FTP. Q: Will you be affiliates with my site? A: Of course! Just send me an email using the application form in the "internet" section of the site. Q: Will you advertise my site? A: Only if the favor is reciprocated for the exact amount of time I advertise your site (which is usually a 2 week deal). If you want an indefinite amount of time to be advertise, then apply to be an affiliate. Q: Will you plug my band on your site? A: Yes! Use the contact form in the "site" section of the page to give me your band name, official website (if you have one), and official myspace page (if you have one). Q: How do you do certain effects on your graphics? A: Which one? Check the "visitor" section of the site to see if the effect you want to learn is there. If not, you may want to suggest it using the contact form in the "site" section. Q: Can I use some of your graphics on your portfolio? A: Not without special permission. If you really want to, you have to let me know (contact form in "site section") and credit me. Q: Can you design a layout for me? A: I could, but it depends on my schedule. I go to school full-time and I work part-time. Q: Can you code a layout for me? A: I could, but it depends on my schedule and the type of coding you want. I go to school full-time and I work part-time. Also, I'm not a coding expert. I can't do intricate things. My coding is fairly basic to keep maintenance as easy as possible. Q: What program do you use for graphic design? A: Adobe Photoshop CS & Imageready CS. Q: What program do you use for coding? A: Nothing. I use notepad to put all my codes in before uploading them to my page. If I were to provide a suggestion on what program you should use, Microsoft Frontpage and Dreamweaver are top on my list. Q: What FTP program do you use? A: WS_FTP95 LE. It's very primative, but it does its job well. If you go on File Hippo, you can find FTP programs that you can download for free. GO BACK. |
